2025 Training Outline

12 Jan by Coach Evan

Good afternoon, Hurricanes,

Linked above, or on the App’s home screen, are three documents.
1. The training outline for 2025
2. The training schedule and fee structure when we return to Mornington
3. The enrolment form

Note that some squad names have changed to reflect their competitive targets.

Non Competitive Squads
1. Development Squad (unchanged)
2. Junior Squad (unchanged)
3. Fitness Squad (formerly Cross-Fit)

Competitive Squads
1. District Squad (formerly JETS)
2. State Squad (formerly District)
3. National Squad (formerly Senior)

I will have more information on when we can return to Mornington later this week.

The theme for 2025 is “Hard and Fast.” Our results in 2024 reflect that I did not expose you to enough hard work. Judging by my attendance records, we did not consistently attend training enough either. Expect to work harder this year, and if you can commit to training more often, expect to race faster, too.

You get out what you put in; if you want to be good this year, which we can measure as consistently in the top 20 in competitive results, you will need to train more than last year.
I aim to take a dozen swimmers to the Victorian Age Long-Course Championships in March 2026. If you want to be part of that team, you must train 5 times a week for the next 14 months, and more if you’re 13 and over.

Consistent hard work over a long period of time is the only way to guarantee competitive results.

Warmest Regards,

Evan
