Our Story

Established in 2016 by inaugural Head Coach Alex Webb, the Hurricanes were founded as an alternative for families on the Mornington Peninsula who want to participate in competitive swimming in a smaller, more intimate setting.

Coach Evan Russell

A former Victorian state finalist and Australian Top 50 swimmer, our Head Coach has been involved in competitive swimming for three decades. His passion for encouraging a love for both the sport and the long-term training lifestyle has produced multiple state medalists and national age-group swimmers over the years. One of his favourite sayings encapsulates his coaching philosophy: "If you want to be good, it likely won't happen 'til after you've finished school. My job is to teach you everything you need to know along the way; your job is to turn up and train the best you can."
